Before the game vs. the Colts tomorrow, Generation Teal will highlight which rookies have been the best, and the ones who need to have a better second half of the season for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
QB BLAKE BORTLES: B-
Analysis: Bortles has shown us enough to make us realize he is the future, but his current performance must improve overall. He has revitalized the offense, but he needs to stop throwing so many interceptions.
WR ALLEN ROBINSON: A+
Analysis: Robinson had a near-perfect season, but sadly he was put on IR after being injured vs. the Cowboys. He was Bortles third-down target, and had two touchdowns along with over 40 receptions on the season.
WR MARQISE LEE: F
Analysis: To be fair, we haven’t really seen much of him. But word has it that he is still learning the playbook, and ever since starting the first two games of the season, he’s been virtually non-existent. He figures to have a more extended role now that Robinson is out for the season.
OG BRANDON LINDER: A
Analysis: Linder has been outstanding during the season, and while he was out during the last game, the running game for the Jaguars struggled. He is deserving of a Pro-Bowl vote.
CB AARON COLVIN: Incomplete
Analysis: He hasn’t even seen the field yet due to an injury he got before being drafted, but he will indeed play vs. the Colts tomorrow.
LB TELVIN SMITH: B+
Analysis: Smith has had an up-and-down season, but has made plays when they were needed and was even named the AFC Defensive Player of Week earlier during the year. He has a promising career ahead of himself.
DE CHRIS SMITH: Incomplete
Analysis: He has only played in two games and recorded two tackles for 0.5 sacks. He was on the practice squad before being promoted in October.
C LUKE BOWANKO: A
Analysis: Bowanko has played well as a center replacing Brad Meester, and has been key to the this offense.
RB STORM JOHNSON: C
Analysis: Johnson has been good during his limited time, scoring two touchdowns. But, when Toby Gerhart returned he was deactivated for every game since.
OVERALL DRAFT CLASS GRADE: A-
This class has a chance to become the future of this franchise. Every single player selected has tons of potential, and personally I think this is the best class the Jaguars have had.
